The rooms could be larger for long stays!!! Heating issues need addressing to ensure comfort!!! Noise levels from the pub can be disruptive!!! Parking can be a hassle during peak times!!!

Delicious pies in peaceful surroundings
Staying at the Royal Hotel felt like a home away from home. The warm and welcoming owners contributed to the cozy ambiance, and I couldn't resist trying their homemade pies which were simply delightful. The countryside views from my room made every moment special, perfect for a refreshing escape after a day exploring the nearby Peak District.
The room was a bit smaller than expected, which might be a concern for longer stays. the menu was somewhat limited, mainly offering pies that, while tasty, could benefit from more variety.

oh, where to begin? the room was a tiny bit cramped, not that you’d notice if you were treated like royalty. also, the restaurant menu was seems quite limited for a place that boasts quality. i can’t believe i didn’t receive any complimentary treats—absoluteley appalling! i almost thought of giving a good review, but just couldn’t.

We felt right at home with the friendly owners. The home-cooked meals were delicious, and having beautiful walks right outside was perfect for our family. Our older kids loved the cozy atmosphere while we enjoyed a lovely evening together.
My children wanted a bit more variety at breakfast.

The Twin Room with Private Bathroom was cozy and clean, stocked with a kettle, tea, and fluffy towels. It was lovely walking into a warm space with everything I needed. Even enjoyed the great views outside while sipping tea! Just a heads up, the room was a bit smaller than I’d like for a longer stay, but it worked for one night. Parking was pretty easy too.
